Whispers was started in 2004 by Karen Ross, a stay-at-home mom, whose mother passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 2003. When Karen realized how little information was out there about this deadly disease, she felt she needed to do something about it.
In September 2004, she started a fundraising campaign selling a teal Ovarian Cancer Awareness bracelet and raised $4,500.00 for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. During the fundraising campaign, she received requests for bracelets in other colors, thus Whispers was born. Since this first campaign, Whispers has donated 30% of the profits from jewelry sales to the NOCC, while raising ovarian cancer awareness in the community.
All Whispers jewelry is designed and crafted by Karen with genuine Swarovski crystals. All bracelets come with a sterling silver awareness ribbon charm to signify ovarian cancer awareness
